It is never too late to renovate your home, and what better time than the current one. If you are planning to transform your living space or you are about to create one, you can do so by choosing other colors for the walls, freshen up the living room with new furniture, redistribute the kitchen or simply add the artwork to the overall design.
In the following lines, we will present to you some of the latest trends in home decoration and interior design for 2020, which we at Atlantis Estates believe will inspire you and would fit perfectly into any home.
1. Vintage details
A timeless classic that continues to be trendy today. Attention to detail, beautiful elements and delicate colors of the vintage trend take their place in the interior design, turning it into a real tradition. This includes a wide range of options - from small artworks, through decorative elements to complete furnishing.
The "worn" and "aged" look of the furniture is a real treasure, which is why many manufacturers deliberately recreate it into their collections. So if you have an old chest of drawers, do not rush to throw it away.
It is the classic vintage style that is woven into the luxuriously furnished apartment with city and sea views in Las Brisas. You can see it in Maisonette C27 in Las Brisas.
2. Abstract energy
This is an extremely fun and invigorating trend that draws inspiration from the abstract expressionist artworks and various graphic elements. With bold lines, sketches of drawings and playful color combinations, this look is associated with the expression of individuality in your home. The goal is to evoke emotion and create a good mood - and it certainly happens.
Energetic patterns and grooved textures are a playful approach for styling the interior and decor. As an art movement, this trend does not hide the imperfect contours and at the same time emphasizes the smoothness of the painted shapes, which are a key moment in this vision.
3. Casual comfort
Evolving from the fashion trends in the northern countries, this design is their more simplified version. The goal is to create a calm and comfortable space, where you can unwind fully and recharge.
The neutral and resistant colors of the walls and the furniture "warm-up" the room, and while you are inside, you feel a calm atmosphere, leaving away the worries of the outside world.
If you are a fan of this trend, the last available apartment in the Atlantis Atmosphere residential complex, located just a few meters from the beach, is the perfect place to experience the bliss and peace of a quiet, cozy home.
4. Dark blue temptation
The color of 2020 is the classic blue in a darker shade. It is sophisticated and universal. Through it, you can bring a balanced contrast to the interior of your apartment or house, which includes both traditional and modern styles.
The blue color can be used to emphasize a particular wall, as well as for the kitchen doors to create contrast, which in combination with white paneling and wooden windows will provide a great and modern look to your home.
House 21 in residential complex Atlantis Homes II is the ideal space that can be completed in accordance with this trend, striving for a wonderful symbiosis of colors in each room.
5. Floral wallpapers
This trend in the interior design from last year continues to be in style. Floral wallpapers are an eye-pleasing accent and come in a great variety. The bold colors and shapes give a modern and stylish look to the room, and combining them with textiles (tablecloths, decorative pillows, upholstery, curtains, etc.) in the same or similar color shade will create a unique atmosphere of elegance, romance, and comfort.
Audacity can push you to use the bold accents for any room in your home.
6. The white kitchen stays in the background
Until now, the white color was the masterpiece of any room. Combined with metal, gold, and marble, the white color from a classic, turns into an equivalent of sophistication and style. The time has come for the white to give a way of its leading positions in the interior design, moving into more earthy, natural colors and textures. This inspiration that comes from nature and the use of mainly wooden material emphasizes the comfort, amplified style, and comfort in the kitchen.
7. Evergreen plant
The inspiration from nature finds its reflection when an evergreen plant is placed, which is also a suitable decision for any room. The good news is that this type of plant is relatively easy to look at, and at the same time gives life, comfort, and captivating charm to the room. We recommend that you choose at least one large evergreen plant, which you can combine with several smaller ones.
A good and trendy decision is the olive tree. And in case you think that you cannot cope with the cultivation of a natural plant, the stores offer many options for artificial plants, whose look is as close as possible to the real ones.
8. Colorful inspiration
Another design movement of the contemporary interior design of the kitchen is moving away from the white color and goes towards the variety of colors, combining shades that strongly contrast with each other. In this way, a spectacle of tenderness and a colorful mood is created. For this purpose, of course, there must always be a base color (it can also be white) that can be combined with other colors such as bright yellow, dark blue, green, and/or deep red. It is also important to choose the elements you want to change, such as the doors of the lower kitchen shelf, and their transformation will transform the design and the look of the whole space. Our offer for a gentle, colorful, and aerial home, fully furnished and ready to be yours and bring you emotion and inspiration is House 1 in Atlantis Homes I residential complex.
9. Canopy bed
Now is the time to make your dream of a canopy bed come true. You do not need to use heavy fabrics and bulky construction. The modern version of a romantic aristocracy and captivating exotic involves the installation of metal or upholstered frames, which are extremely elegant. They are used as a rail for the ethereal fabric that gently enfolds the bed.
10. Eclectic radiance
Through a smooth transition from 2019, 2020 is emerging as the year of the bold, confident, and glamorous trend in the retro look of the interior. It paves the way of the refined elegance and chic typical for the 1930s and combines it with the style of the 1970s. The sophisticated elegance takes the central place here. For example, you can think of dining chairs with concave backs, rounded edges, and soft fabrics.
11. Curved sofas
This home decor trend will also take you to another decade. The '60s and '70s are back with a modern look, with a focus on non-standard lines and irregular style.
12. Japandi - a breeze from the East
This year, there is a huge interest in Japanese design elements. This includes collections studded with rich silk textures, exquisite bird motifs, stylized oriental prints, and structured furniture shapes.
The greatness of the elegant Japanese minimalism combined with the pure Scandinavian style makes Japandi a hybrid trend, combining the best of these two much-loved and popular visions.
Japandi is distinguished by its clean lines and a calm, muted color palette.
You can see an example of similar interior design in house 22 in the Atlantis Homes II residential complex. Modern furniture and futuristic elements intertwine, creating a feeling of absolute harmony and coziness, and the emphasis is on achieving an individual look for each room.
13. Artworks
Whether you have a collection of artworks that you want to expand or you will choose a single item, we strongly recommend that you will select an item with an antique look. Choose the one that suits your style and perception of the world, which will help you enjoy it in the future.
Artwork can be also placed in the kitchen, turning it into something more than space where food is prepared.
14. Rattan furniture
Rattan shifts the focus from the garden and the terrace, by entering into the house. As an interior component of the living room or the kitchen, it gives warmth and freshness to the room, balancing perfectly between modern and traditional styles. It could be used for tables, chairs, lighting, storage basket, etc.
15. Cozy fabrics
Fabulously beautiful and extremely comfortable, the fabrics with delicate textures are a preferred option in 2020. In this case, it is not focused on luxury, but more on the coziness by emphasizing comfort and a simpler look. In regards to that, the knitted blankets and pillowcases are very trendy.
We hope the trends for 2020 that we have selected for you have been interesting and useful and will encourage you to change and refresh the interior of your home. If you apply some of them in your home, we will be happy if you share it with us. Do not hesitate to experiment, combining the proposals to your own taste.
